After a quick hello, kids aged 7+ are interacting directly with their teacher — listening, responding and fully engaged from the very start, while following simple, achievable instructions step by step.

For example, for a complete beginner, we start with: “hit all the groups of three black notes on the piano.”

Then we build from there, one simple layer at a time.

All you need is a keyboard, a device such as a laptop, tablet or phone, and the Zoom app.

We’ll show you where to place your device and help you get set up.

Will this actually work over Zoom?

Yes. Piano Play has been teaching via Zoom since 2015, using a teaching method refined over 20 years. Each week, students learn live with their teacher and follow a simple step-by-step system that's easy for kids as young as 7 to follow.

You'll see it in action when your child plays a song they love in their free trial lesson!

What if we don't have a keyboard yet?

Any keyboard is fine for your free trial — you can even borrow one. If you need to buy one, fill in our quick questions at the top of this page and we'll send you three affordable, teacher-recommended options that can be delivered to your door, starting from $349 AUD.

When are the lessons?

Weekly 60-minute lessons during school terms, with availability for new students on weekdays at 4pm, 5pm and 6:30pm.

How much do lessons cost?

New students begin with our 6-Week Starter Pack, before continuing with weekly 60-minute lessons billed monthly.

We’ll send you full pricing and program details after you book your free trial lesson, so you can review everything before your trial.

Do I need to sit with my child during the trial?

We recommend being with your child at the beginning and end of the trial lesson. You'll meet the teacher and have a quick chat together at the beginning, then your child can learn independently with the teacher guiding them step-by-step.

At the end, you can come back to hear the song they've learned, ask questions and learn more about the program.
